    ———-

I met up with Darius Ollison in South Carolina for this shoot. I drove all the way down from Shenandoah National Park in Virginia the day before, on the last couple days of my Philadelphia trip at the end of June. Yeah, I really drove all over the place….. Charlotte NC to Philadelphia PA to Suffern NY to Shenandoah National Park VA to Sunset SC. SO MUCH DRIVING! It was a thousand percent worth it. I had so many amazing fun creative shoots on that trip, and I had a ton of fun doing it! I have a story about why I went to NY state… but that’s for another day. =]

Back to this shoot! I had an entire day to myself for my drive from Shenandoah to SC, so I took my time exploring Shenandoah and then meandered my way down to SC. I just had to make sure to give myself enough time to figure out where I was sleeping before nightfall. I drove straight to the trailhead to make sure I knew where it was since I was meeting Darius there early the next morning. It’s in the middle of nowhere down a rural country road, I felt like I was driving into someone’s farm because there were a few houses nearby on the same road. There was absolutely no cell service so I drove back out into the nearby small town to call AD and let him know I made it and what my plans were for that night. The trailhead was small and secluded enough that I felt safe hunkering down there for the night, which is what I did! I actually enjoy sleeping in my car. I have a piece of memory foam that I’ve cut to fit the entire back of my car and I hang black towels up in the windows so nobody can see in. It’s a minimal setup but I love the freedom of living out of a car – I just need to find a decent place to park. =]

I was woken up in the middle of the night by another car driving in and parking next to me. Up until that point I was totally alone at the trailhead, so I was immediately worried about who this person was and why they were there. Obviously they weren’t going hiking since it was about 1 am. I grabbed my knife and peered around the towel to watch what was going on. It was a guy in a minivan. He checked his phone, wrote in a notebook, and smoked a cigarette. He was there for maybe 5 minutes and then a woman walked up from down the road. She got in the car, they talked for a moment, then drove away. I was so relieved! I was definitely scared for a while.

The next morning I got up extra early so I could drive into town to call AD and let him know I was alright, then drove back to the trailhead to meet up with Darius. He was super nice and funny and I really enjoyed modeling for him. We shot for a couple of hours before the sun got too high. Right after I got dressed a mom and her 2 daughters were coming down the trail! Somehow I have great timing because this has happened at least 3 times at different shoots, I’ll get dressed and right after that people show up!

It was so hard to pick out only a few photos to share with you here, there are SO MANY amazing ones! Make sure to check out this huge set in the galleries! <3

There are 4 BTS videos (and 6 photos) from this shoot for that show you just how big and beautiful these waterfalls are.  I’ve added 5 videos from Shenandoah National Park as well! There’s also 2 new aerial silks videos! One in which I do a stag leg drop back, purposefully falling backwards through the air, which is actually really fun! The other video is a 4.5 minute long scorpion sequence with a couple of backbends from ankle hang at the end. Dang that is a major workout!

Wow, I can’t believe it’s March already! Time is flying for me, is it flying for you too? I’m not complaining though, every day is a day closer to spring and summer and warmth! This week’s sets were actually taken outside! We’ve had a few abnormally warm days here in NC so I got to take advantage and I went to a park that has this wooden amphitheatre and took a couple of self portrait sets for you! I wanted to take more photos but I had to hastily put my clothes back on when someone started walking in my direction. One day the general population will be open minded enough to not freak out over nipples and butts… I know that has to be coming in the future. It has to!

    —————————————————————————————-

This week I wanted to share more personal stuff about me, especially since I’ve been doing the informational metaphysical posts these last few weeks. I really love talking and sharing information about metaphysical stuff (I hope you enjoy it too!) but it’s been a while since I’ve opened up to y’all. I barely share personal things on social media because I’m usually much more of a private person. However, I savor the opportunity to reveal more of myself to y’all – my supporters, my confidants, my friends. <3 Thank you for being here with me!

So, lately my life has been pretty hectic. I work a 40-hour work week, take aerial silks classes 2-3x a week, model for figure drawing sessions a couple times a month, I have a husband and roommate to spend time with, I try to find time for yoga and/or meditation, and I usually spend a weekend a month at my parents’ house for quality family time because they’re amazing and I don’t see them as often as I used to since I live further away from them now. I really appreciate and look forward to the time I set aside for myself to create for patreon – for YOU. If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t spend near as much time being creative. It wouldn’t be a priority and I would end up with a lot of other important things that would take up my time before I could make time for art. So, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Being creative is my passion and what I essentially want to do as a career. You are helping me get one step closer to being creative full time, and that means so much. Haha I said I was going to open up to you and immediately started gushing about how amazing you guys are. <3 <3 <3

Anyway… (I’m going to add some metaphysical stuff in here, get ready!) so I’m a Sagittarius. I’ve always liked reading horoscopes in newspapers and magazines, but a couple of years ago me, my parents, sister, granddaddy, and a couple of my parents’ friends started getting together once a month to talk about astrology. There is SO MUCH to learn and it can get overwhelming because there’s not just the 12 signs, there’s all the houses and aspects and the different planets… we’ve barely touched the surface. BUT, learning more about the signs in particular has helped me get to know myself better and to know others better as well. My sister Kitty is a Gemini and essentially starts her life over every 2 years or so, it’s amazing… and it’s totally a Gemini trait to do that, they’re all about change. Sagittarians are lucky, cheerful, independent, free spirited, versatile, have a bad case of wanderlust, and are always searching for knowledge. This is 100% me. You know what my dream is? My biggest dream (as of now, I’m sure it will change and grow and evolve over time) is to buy a big giant work van, convert it into a camper van, and live in it while exploring the country on a lifelong road trip, creating, meeting new people, and learning as much as I can about as much as I can. Oh my GOSH y’all I just… I really dream about this every day. I am the luckiest person in the world, too, because Antisocialdisposition/my husband is so super supportive of me and says that even though he doesn’t want to live in a van for longer than a few weeks, he is totally fine with having a home base where he lives full time and I can go off on my merry adventures for a few weeks at a time. My goal is to buy that van by the end of this year and finish the build out before AD finishes his electrical engineering degree in Dec 2018. This is gonna happen, I’m going to make it happen.

What are your dreams for the future?
