I really love these images taken by (PHOTOGRAPHER NAME REDACTED because after working with him I found out that he has been inappropriate with SEVERAL models and I don’t want to promote him or make others think he is safe because I have posed for him. If you’re a model and want/need a reference for ANYONE that I’ve worked with, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me! I would be happy to provide any information I have available). We shot at one of my favorite locations, an abandoned college. The giant main room on the bottom floor with the prominent staircase, the (what used to be) huge windows, the graffiti, and the numerous places to shoot all come together to make a great place for art. I still haven’t been everywhere in the college yet, the place is enormous. We used all natural light so we stayed everywhere there was lots of it but ventured a little into some of the rooms more on the inside of the school to get some lower light images as well.
Anytime I model in an abandoned place I always try to be extra careful, you never know what’s there. I know a model who went to an abandoned location for a shoot and she and the photographer found a dead person in one of the rooms! Apparently he was trying to steal the copper pipes or something and got electrocuted when he was digging around in the walls. You really can never be too careful when you’re in a place you don’t know much about. Some abandoned buildings are structurally unsafe, or have asbestos, lead paint, or other people there you wouldn’t expect like a dead person or a cop. I’ve been to this college a couple of times and have been shown around a lot of the more well-lit areas so I’m pretty comfortable there. Luckily the only trouble I got into was I made the mistake of laying stomach-down on the stairway which I didn’t find out until later but it was covered in fiberglass. The skin on my stomach was ON FIRE for a few days afterward, ouch!
I hope you like this set as much as I do! Which photo is your favorite?

Early post this week because WE’RE MOVING THIS WEEKEND!!! I’m so ready for this big change and can’t wait to start creating in our new place. We will be renting a couple of rooms from a good friend of ours in her nice big house built in 1940. We’re going to have our first roommate! She’s super awesome and I’m stoked to get to see her all the time. We’re going to be hippies together: composting, planting an herb garden, learning more about crystals and herbs and essential oils, hopefully even learning some witchcraft together. I’m also dreaming about hanging aerial silks from the big tree in the back yard!
I was going through some old photos the other day and found the first nude self portrait set I ever took with Antisocialdisposition from way back in February 2010! We look like babies! We were both over 18, don’t worry, we weren’t ACTUALLY babies. I thought I would share this nostalgic set here with y’all.
We took these in my childhood bedroom at my parents house. We had been dating for a little over a year and I think that even then you can tell how close we are and how much love we have between us. In December we’ll have been together for 8 years. We moved in together about 5 years ago and have been married for over 3 years now. Time flies. I’m so excited to grow old with him. <3
(EDIT: Little did I know that in March 2019, after over 10 years together, we would be having the divorce conversation, getting legally separated in April, and he would be moving to another state in May… but that’s a story for another time. It was amicable and we are still friends.)
This week I also wanted to share another set from our time in New Orleans. I’m finally getting through a bunch of them, I took a huge amount of photos while we were there. The Airbnb we stayed at was super cute and had the best wood floors and an awesome staircase! I just had to take a ton of photos with those stairs!

I love taking self portraits, but I love modeling for photographers too. There’s nothing like seeing yourself the way others see you.
Colorvibes is a local art student, photographer, and model, and has started taking figurative nude images on film (and digital). We finally met up one day a few weeks ago right when it was starting to get cold when the sun went down. I took her to a spot I’ve used once or twice for photos and we shot for a couple of hours. I love seeing how others view and use places that I’ve shot at before. There are always new ways of seeing places and things that I hadn’t thought of. She was kind enough to allow me to share our photos with you.
Do you remember when AD and I went to the mountains for our waterfall weekend with Drake Avenue? If you don’t remember or are new check out this post if you’d like to read the blog/look at photos. He sent me the behind the scenes film photos he took that weekend! He said I could share them with you too. =]

We had such a wonderful time with Kyotocat when she was here a couple months ago that she came and visited us again at the end of October! She stayed longer this time and we took her to the mountains so she could see some of our favorite places. We drove around the Blue Ridge Parkway (she had never been there before!) and marveled at all the leaves with their brightly changing colors: so many reds, oranges, and yellows! We took her to Asheville and ate at some delicious local spots. We stayed overnight at a Motel 6 that was super greedy and had a sign out front “Wifi here” but made us pay for it! That was super annoying. The next day we took her to the top of Mount Mitchell, the highest peak east of the Mississippi River. Finally, we hiked to one of our most favorite spots in Linville Gorge. It’s not an easy hike, you literally hike down a mountain, up a stone tower, and then have to hike down the tower and all the way back up the mountain to get back to the car. It’s 100% worth it every time. We shot each other with my Instax, I took 35mm film photos of her, and she took medium format film photos of me with her giant Mamiya that she lugged up and down the mountain! AD was our trusty lookout and did such a good job distracting other people and keeping them from coming over to our spot that we had 2 or 3 uninterrupted hours of shooting and hanging out naked on the top of the tower. =D
Here are some of my favorites from the Instax and my 35mm film!

Last weekend Antisocialdisposition and I went to New Orleans. We left at around 8pm on Thursday and drove through the night, trading driving and sleeping when one or the other of us got too tired. Arriving at around 7:30am, we immediately went and got some breakfast, then headed to City Park to hang out. Oh my gosh I loved City Park and really want to go back and explore it more! There are so many huge live oaks just begging to be climbed and hugged and appreciated. Of course the first thing I did was climb on one, sitting on one of the long, low branches. We had a few hours to kill until we could check into our Airbnb so we walked around for a while. It made me so happy to see the big patches of wildflowers they have near the entrance! City Park backs up to the New Orleans Museum of Art and they have a free sculpture garden so of course we checked that out too. I’ve uploaded some videos and photos of some of the artwork we really liked.
As soon as we were able to, we checked into our Airbnb and showered, it’s surprisingly hot in New Orleans in early November! I was super happy with the Airbnb we found, it was really private and comfy and nice, I would definitely recommend staying there and would love to stay there again. We went for lunch at Seed, which is a super yummy vegan place, and then walked to the French Quarter to meet up with some friends. We hung out with them for a bit and then I went off on my own to explore Bourbon Street. This was a Friday night and there were so many people everywhere! Most of them were drunk or on their way to being drunk. It’s so weird to me that in the city of New Orleans you can drink 24/7, wherever you want. Outside the city you would get in trouble for drinking on the side of the street but I guess they let people drink all over the place in the city because it’s one of the reasons so many tourists visit.
I people watched, went to a few stores (they have a Lush store! I had to get a couple of bath bombs), watched some street performers, and I even spent a bit of time in a VooDoo shop. They had some really great books about crystals and magic and tarot, a small selection of herbs, lots of talismans and dolls, and a lot of magic kits. I’m fascinated by so much of this so of course I spent a while in there just milling around looking at everything. I bought a book called Circle of Eight by Jane Meredith that’s about creating magic in your local area, I’m about 80 pages in and really enjoying it. I plan to start having circle with some family and close friends to incorporate some of the things I’m learning into my life and practice. I’m interested in so many metaphysical things I feel like I’m kinda all over the place and know a tiny bit about a bunch of different topics. I want to dive into one particular thing to have a more in depth understanding of whatever that one thing is but it’s so hard to choose what that thing will be! I guess I’ll let myself explore a little bit of everything and let my interests organically point me in the direction of whatever it is I’m meant to know more about.
On Saturday I spent the morning modeling for a super nice photographer, Mysa Photography, then spent the rest of the day walking around New Orleans, looking at all the pretty houses and then going back to our Airbnb to take five HUGE self portrait sets. I haven’t been able to go through all of them yet but the first one is up in the galleries and a few of my favorites are below!
We spent all day on Sunday driving back home. Blegh. That was a super long drive, especially since neither of us wanted to go back to work/school on Monday. I’m hoping we can go back to New Orleans again sometime soon, and spend more time there next time! And next time I want to go to a cemetery!
Have you been to New Orleans? What was your favorite part about it? Where should I go next time I visit?

Hey friends! I decided to do this week’s post a couple days early. Antisocialdisposition and I are driving through the night tonight to get to New Orleans tomorrow morning. No traffic, yay! We’ll be there for the weekend and I want to make sure I have plenty of time to take tons of self portraits for you while we’re there, hence the early post. =]
This week I thought I would share the film I took of Nova Amour when she visited a couple months ago. We hosted her while she was in town and it was really nice getting to know her a little. She’s super sweet and creative and I’m looking forward to working with her again at some point.
I took a few self portraits while waiting until it was time for a doctor’s appointment in a part of town that I used to live in. It was nice being in my old stomping grounds and shooting somewhere that I used to use a lot for shoots. Now that I think about it, I don’t think I ever took self portraits there, I think I always photographed models whenever I was there. I didn’t have a ton of time but I think I got some great images.

My friend Nuance Artistry was kind enough to send me a ton of photos from our shoots to share with you! We have taken photos in an abandoned college, my favorite abandoned house (the one with the pool in the back yard!), and an abandoned house that had been burned down (well, mostly).
I’ll occasionally go with him to scout out new abandoned locations and the last time we went we got caught! EEK! We were checking out a location that had 3 abandoned houses and right as we were walking back out to the main road a cop was driving by. Boy did we have terrible timing! The cop of course turned around and stopped us. He asked us a bunch of questions like why we were there, what we were doing, how we knew about the place, etc. He really seemed like he thought we had drugs or something. I guess that’s what most people are doing when he catches them at abandoned locations. We were just there to check the place out! Luckily he let us go without too much hassle but oh gosh I was nervous.
Here are a few of my favorites from the abandoned college:
(I know, I know, we were right out front of the college. hehe)
Some from my favorite abandoned house (there’s a pool and hot tub in the back yard!):
There are cool built-in cabinets there, too.
And a few from the burned down abandoned house:
I had soot all over me by the end of this shoot! This was right before I got a piece of glass stuck in my foot. Ever since this shoot I’ve kept a first aid kit in my camera bag. You can’t be too prepared!

I’ve already made a blog post about our waterfall weekend when I shared the Instax so instead of a blog I’ll share some fun facts about me! It’s been a long time since I did fun facts on here so it’s about time for more. =]
- I have a growing skull collection. I currently have a pit bull, a cow, 3 deer, a badger, a rabbit, 2 mice, & a raccoon. We just found the raccoon in the woods this week!
- I’ve never paid for a skull, they’ve either been gifted to me or I’ve found them. I found the pit bull during a shoot several years ago at an abandoned mill.
- I started collecting crystals & rocks when I was really young. I have become more and more preoccupied with them.
- My breakfast every morning is a fruit & veggie smoothie. I make a few days at a time so I don’t have to make them every day. 90% of the time they’re 100% fresh fruits & veggies, but sometimes when I don’t have enough I’ll use some frozen fruit.
- I drink a nettle infusion daily. It has lots of vitamins & minerals (& tons of iron!), and is good for your urinary, digestive, and immune systems. Plus it helps me drink more water.
- I freaking love lime tostitos and cheese puffs. And just about everything sugary.
- I never thought I would but I’ve grown to like beets. When I was a kid I would eat SO MUCH of that canned cranberry sauce at Thanksgiving and one time there was some round red-colored stuff in a bowl and I just knew it was cranberry sauce so I ate some but NO it was BEETS and I was SO disappointed. I didn’t even try them for years after that. Beets are actually really good in smoothies!
- I’m making plans and moving towards living in a campervan full time. I am totally obsessed. The plan is to buy a big work van sometime late next year and spend the year after that building it out to become our new mobile apartment. Hoping to move in when AD finishes his engineering degree.
- I have 2 associate’s degrees: Associate in Arts & Associate in Fine Arts. I think I’d like to go back to school to get a bachelor’s but I’m still not sure yet. This summer I was planning on going back but changed my mind.
- I’m better at meditating when I have crystals and I’m sitting in the bathtub.
Ok enough about me, now for waterfall photos! Antisocialdisposition took photos of me & I took photos of him. This is becoming a trend and I rather enjoy it.
