• Infrared with Satya & Michael O’Neill

These 2 sets are the last of the sets I had stored in the First Look gallery from this epic shoot day with Satya, Michael O’Neill, and Colorvibes, assisted by my mom and sister. I’ve shared a bunch of photosets from this day already… we made so much art that I’m so proud of. Michael and Colorvibes both took photos of Satya & me, I’ve already shared the photos from Colorvibes, and these are the final sets from Michael. Some of the photos have bubbles in them that my mom and sister blew from off camera (not shown in these photos but you can find them in the gallery). I am so thankful that there are so many wonderful creatives in Charlotte that I’ve been able to create with over the years. I love our little art community here so much.

  • Double Exposures with Karolina Von

I love creating with Karolina Von!!! She also lives in Charlotte so I’ve been fortunate enough to take photos of and with her a few times now, and every time is so much fun! She and I are both Sagittarius, have a lot in common, and feed off of each other’s energy so well! She always brings my mood up and I always leave her presence feeling super great. She’s one of the few people I feel really safe talking to about personal life things. I’m so lucky to be able to call her my friend. This photoset is from June last year, and we’ve created since then so I have even more photos of her to share with you in the future! I’ll definitely miss her when AD and I move to Baltimore, but I plan on coming back to North Carolina every few months to visit family and friends so I’m sure I’ll see her again.

  • Babel Tower with Kyotocat

Wow what a wonderful and magickal day this was! Kyotocat came to visit us a while back and we took her here, to one of our favorite places in the mountains of North Carolina. We spent most of the day hiking, exploring, and taking photos, and if you know me at all, you know that’s my absolute favorite kind of day. We were lucky that nobody showed up while we were shooting because this is a popular trail, but Antisocialdisposition hung out near the main entrance to this part of the trail to help deter people from showing up unexpectedly and so he could warn us if we needed to get dressed. I already shared the set I took of Kyotocat that day, it can be found in the November 2016 gallery and includes one of my absolute favorite photos I’ve ever taken. I’ll share that one at the bottom of this post so you know which one I’m talking about!

This one is of Kyotocat, one of my favorite images I’ve ever taken:

  • Stephen’s Universe

I drove down to SC to meet Stephen’s Universe and create with him in his apartment. We photographed each other and at the end of the shoot we took a few self portraits together! The majority of our self portraits together were taken on his digital camera so you can find those in the set he took of me (Nov 2018 gallery), but there’s one I took of us on my film camera that you can see in this set. I really enjoyed meeting and creating with him, he has a really interesting perspective on life and art and I’m so glad our paths crossed!

  • Hillside/Forest with Kara Perry

I love that there are so many wonderful creative women in Charlotte, and I’m so grateful that I’ve been able to work with several of them! One of my favorite local photographers is Kara Perry, who I’ve known for a couple of years online and from her frequently coming into the camera store I work at part time. She and I met up last year for a quick shoot, this is the second of the two photosets we shot that day.

We met up at a hotel parking lot and I drove us to this small park next to a river. You’ve probably seen a few photosets I’ve taken there if you’ve been a supporter for a while. Kara and I explored the hill and woods on the other side of the park from the river and got a lot of great shots in a pretty small area. I love the challenge of creating in a limited space and creating within the constraints of a small space with limited time and resources.

  • Nova Amour & V in an abandoned house

This is the final photoset from a wonderful day of creating with Nova Amour & V in March last year. Nova lives in Florida and was staying with V while she was in Charlotte, and luckily I was able to meet up and create with both of them! V lives in a really cute house that used to be abandoned that she and her partner have fixed up, and there are several other abandoned houses/buildings on their property, so it was the perfect place for our shoot! We shot in her house, I shot Nova outside of one of the abandoned houses, and we shot this set inside a different abandoned house! What a goldmine of locations all on the same plot of land, it was a dream come true photo-wise!

  • Southern Pines with Drake Avenue

I’ve shared several photosets taken by (or with) Drake Avenue in the past, and as always I had a wonderful time creating with him! I don’t even really remember how it came about, but both of us wanted to travel somewhere to create, so I invited him for an overnight van camping adventure! He was actually the first person to go van camping with me, I had previously only been solo van camping. It’s a tight fit on the blow-up twin mattress I was using, but we’ve known each other for years and I knew he would be a gentleman (and he was) so we both slept pretty well.

Before the sleeping-in-the-van part, we had planned to drive into the mountains and find some waterfalls to shoot near, but when the day came for me to pick him up the weather in the mountains was ALL RAIN for the next few days. We decided that morning that we’d go east instead of west to hopefully avoid the bad weather. We ended up in Southern Pines NC, which I had never been to and was really beautiful, even though its kinda in the middle of nowhere. As we were driving it started to rain off and on, and we saw this abandoned chimney and all the beautiful pine trees in rows off the side of the road, so we decided to stop and see if the rain would clear. It did. We hopped out of the van and took some images by the chimney, and then ran across the road into the pines to shoot the rest of his roll of film. When we finished we were starving, so we went into town and ate at an Asian place, then went and bought fruit at a grocery store and hung out in the van eating it and listening to the rain that had started… then we found a hotel parking lot to park and sleep in. I was able to park in the corner of the lot so we had trees on two sides of us, which was really nice because it rained that night and we got to watch the rain and the trees through the back window as we were falling asleep.

I have another photoset from this trip to share with you from the next day, look for that coming soon! It’s on Lomo Purple which is some of my FAVORITE film. <3

I absolutely love spontaneous road trips and photoshoots! There’s something really exhilarating about not having a plan and figuring it out as you go.

  • Hanna in B&W

I met Hanna a couple years ago through aerial silks classes at AerialCLT. She and I took a lot of classes together and shared a silk numerous times. I always loved teaming up with her because she’s so encouraging and easygoing! She’s easily one of the sweetest people I know, and ridiculously talented at everything I’ve seen her do. She’s an aerialist, dancer, and now model! This was her first time modeling nude for anyone, and I’m honored that she trusted me to take these photos of her. <3

  • Menstruation with Portraitmami

This photoset is really special to me for a few reasons… I’ve been talking to Portraitmami about creating together for YEARS and we finally did, I’ve been wanting to do a menstruation photoshoot for a long time, and I felt comfortable and safe enough with her to be very vulnerable with my posing for this set. I hardly EVER pose in this way because I tend to prefer less sexually suggestive poses, but we had a lot of fun finding the best way to show off the fact that I was bleeding.

I find strength and comfort in my menstrual cycle and I’m so happy I was finally able to incorporate it into a shoot!

  • Karolina Von!

Karolina Von & I have shot together a couple different times now, and we have another shoot scheduled this coming week! I’m really excited to see her again and catch up! I’m so grateful that she’s also local to Charlotte so that we can hang out and shoot as often as we do, which really isn’t super often but it’s much more often than if we lived in different cities! She’s such a fun, easy-going, and overall delightful person to be around and I love creating with her! If you love acrobatic things like aerial silks, lyra, straps, and contortion, check out her patreon and instagrams (she has 2 igs)! She’s incredibly talented and bendy!

We shot this set in February last year on an unusually warm day for so early in the year (thanks NC weather!), along with a couple other sets that I’ve already released.
