Bloom with Portraitmami
I’m fortunate that Portraitmami lives in Charlotte because I’ve been able to create with them several times! I always love the images we capture together. We took these at their apartment a few months ago, I loved incorporating the flowers!CURRENTLY: I’m at home doing as much computer work as I can before I leave on Sunday to be gone for essentially 2 weeks (2 different trips but I only gave myself 1 day in between them, oops!). I’m so excited for all of the things coming up for me, I’m really looking forward to traveling and creating with Lior Allay and co-leading/teaching/hosting an art event in Detroit on Sept 14th! (Click here for more info)I was fortunate enough to win a giveaway that Luna Dietrich / Pussywitch did for her course Pleasure Witch Academy, I am so thankful because I know this is what I need at this point in my life. I’ve been going through so many changes and learning so much more about myself and I know this course will be transformative for me. Class starts today (Wednesday the 4th, bc you know I always get these posts ready early haha) and lasts for 3 months, I’m a little nervous that I’ll fall behind because I have a lot of other things going on, but I’m excited to do this for myself.

Portraitmami
This photoset is from the first time I was fortunate enough to photograph Portraitmami (they/them pronouns). They came over to my parents house to take photos of me and Harris (personal photos that won’t be shared online), and after they shot us I shot this roll of them!CURRENTLY:I’ve been home for a week and have been resting and recuperating from my road trip. On the 11th my mom shaved my head for me at my request. My hair is now 1 inch long!!!!!!! It’s shorter than it ever has been in my life (well, since I was a baby), and I LOVE IT! My mom shaved my head and then she did my dad’s weekly hair cut and I got a photo of my whole family nude in the back yard!I took a video of my entire haircut but it’s a little too long to upload (20 min max and the video is 24 mins) so I’ll be editing some of it down so that I can upload it for video members viewing pleasure!

Bodyscapes with Portraitmami
Do you remember the menstruation shoot I did with Portraitmami (they/them)? This set was taken that same day! After we took the menstruation photos we did a set focusing on the light, shadow, and shape of bodyscapes. For me, these images feel intimate, tender, and soft. I appreciate how Portraitmami brings out the true essence of people in their images. <3CURRENTLY:When this is posted on Saturday, I will be at a burn in the mountains of VA with my phone locked in my van. I’m SO looking forward to this weekend! It’ll be my second burn ever, my first one was this burn last year! It’ll be wonderful to spend time with friends and be outdoors naked practically the entire time. I really enjoy being completely present and in the moment at events like this, so I’m choosing this weekend to be an electronics-free weekend for me. I’ll be gone Friday – Monday, but of course I already have all of your posts scheduled! Social media can wait, but I strive for consistency here!This will be a great reset for me, and a very joyful beginning of my summer filled with travel and nature!

Menstruation with Portraitmami
This photoset is really special to me for a few reasons… I’ve been talking to Portraitmami about creating together for YEARS and we finally did, I’ve been wanting to do a menstruation photoshoot for a long time, and I felt comfortable and safe enough with her to be very vulnerable with my posing for this set. I hardly EVER pose in this way because I tend to prefer less sexually suggestive poses, but we had a lot of fun finding the best way to show off the fact that I was bleeding.
I find strength and comfort in my menstrual cycle and I’m so happy I was finally able to incorporate it into a shoot!
